I was and am a sprinter. Unfortunately my basketball career got cut short when I fractured my thumb got out of shape and had no encouragement or incentive to get back to it when it healed. All that I had known for years would only be a hobby forever - if I had known that I would have done things MUCH different. But, should of, could of, would of... It is what it is.
Well, I am going to try to attempt my impossible. I am going to be a runner even if it kills me!
I went on pinterest and found on someone's board a running routine that in 8 weeks will have you ready to run 30 minutes IN A ROW. If I can do that at the end of 8 weeks I think that I might just drop dead in amazement! If I can do that then I can do ANYTHING!
I have dreaded this for years and starting December 7, 2012 my impossible is going to happen whether I am ready or not.
Here is the schedule in case you want to join me in the impossible!
Week 1: Run 1 minute. Walk 90 seconds. Repeat 8 times.
Week 2: Run 2 minutes. Walk 1 minute. Repeat 7 times.
Week 3: Run 3 minutes. Walk 1 minute. Repeat 6 times.
Week 4: Run 5 minutes. Walk 2 minutes. Repeat 4 times.
Week 5: Run 8 minutes. Walk 2 minutes. Repeat 3 times.
Week 6: Run 12 minutes. Walk 1 minute. Repeat 3 times.
Week 7: Run 15 minutes. Walk 1 minute. Run 15 minutes.
Week 8: Run 30 minutes continuously.
